Some technology is worth keeping alive. We contribute engineering time, infrastructure, and patient experimentation to community efforts where practical work can make a difference.
First story
When Jibo's original consumer service ended, owners, developers, and enthusiasts did not simply walk away. They shared what they knew, explored what still worked, and began finding new ways for the robots to remain useful.
Jibo Revival is the larger community effort: a place for people who care about Jibo to exchange knowledge, solve problems together, and explore what the platform can become. Transcendent Software participates in that work; we do not own or lead it.
Jake Dubin and Transcendent Software contribute engineering time, infrastructure work, technical investigation, and plenty of practical experimentation. It is a meaningful contribution, but only one part of a project shaped by many people.
Open Jibo Cloud is the hosting and infrastructure path we are actively developing to support continued experimentation. Self-hosted and hybrid approaches are taking shape alongside it, while managed-node services remain in development.
How we participate
Jibo Revival is the gathering place for the broader effort. Jake and Transcendent contribute where our experience is useful, especially around engineering and infrastructure. Open Jibo Cloud grew from that work as one possible foundation for keeping Jibo experiments running.
There is still plenty to learn. The architecture, hosting options, and boundaries between community and managed services will continue to evolve as people use them and discover what is sustainable.
